I'm currently updating a Fehlmann Picomax 50 CNC. I need to replace the old 3.3NM steppers on the x and y axes and am inclined to fit closed loop steppers like the Leadshine hybrid servos. However, I came across these JMC closed loop motors on eBay and just wondered if anyone else has had any experience of them?

I have not, though communicated directly with them, but better contact them and make sure the motor is the 3nm coupled with the drive you show. As they still don't understand well to couple the bigger drive with the smaller motor so it could be driven at 70VDC and 4.2A Once explained they agree its better :-) , i think they call the 3nm motor nema24, not sure.

And they have much cheap servo, i think the cheapest around , don t know current prices but driver was ~70$ and servo motor was ~100$ , dont forget to ask for cables

If your going closed loop make sure the motors are 3 phase. They are much smoother and give more power. Lot of the larger motors are 2 phase.

Thanks for the replies. I need Nema34 motors which seem to be rated at 4, 4.5, 8.5 and 12NM. Coincidentally, I was just thinking about the issue of two or three phase motors, but it does appear that both the Leadshine and JMC Nema34 motors are two phase.
