CNC 3040T-DJ RouterMini CNC Engraving T-D ControllerHi All
I was running a job - and accidentally set my z level too low and in the middle of the job, the bit hit the bed and snapped.
The strange thing is, the spindle won't stop spinning now. Even when i turn the manual speed control up and down and try to switch off the spindle on the control box. I've tried shutting everything down, including the computer, and rebooting. No help. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting the spindle motor. No help...
Anybody else experience the same issue? What may have gone wrong, and how do i fix it? :ambivalence:

Hi Chilli, welcome to the forum!

Did you manage to get to the bottom of this? If so what was the fix?

I had that on mine too

There is a little diode in the drive circuit that tends to burn. Without it you are dumping current into a different circuit. There is info on the net for this circuit but if you cannot find it I will try and get a photo for you as soon as I can.

if your machine is the one I am thinking of

the IFR630 FET in the PWM motor control will now be short circuited

check the IFR630 FET and the two 1 ohm resistors that are used to sense the motor current

( I expect they are from CNCZONE)

PS
found the CNCZONE post -

John that was the one I was the post I was refering to. Thanks for finding it.

The Diode D3 is the one that blows.

Hi komatias

if that diode goes short circuit its not going the do the NE555 time chip or C4 the 1000uf 16V capacitor any good

the FET's in the first speed control boards used in the CL300M mini lathe I have are easy to blow
