Newbie Says Hello, looks for recommended reading/tutorial

Hello, I'm a total know-nothing about making a cnc machine, but I've seen some of the things they can do and am interested in getting started. So here I am, where the knowledge is. Can anyone recommend any reading or tutorials for total noobs, please?
