Hi I have a 20mm ballnut I stupidly took off the ballscrew and now I need it repacking I know it can be done but I was wondering where can I get it done and does anyone know roughly how much it would cost?

I assume I have to send them the ballnut and ballscrew.

I have a spare to build my z axis from but would be nice to get this one working if the price is right.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies it looks something I could do but I'm going to get Lee Roberts to repack mine for me this time as I just have too many other factors on my first machine to worry about my dodgy packing of my ballnuts (Now there's a phrase you can't use everyday lol) and for what he quoted you'd have to tighter than Victoria Beckham's asshole to complain lol.

Hi I might repack this myself I measured one the ball bearings with a pair of digital callipers and got a reading of 3.45mm so I'm guessing I repack with 3.5mm ball bearing but do I use normal steel?

I guess I do not use stainless steel bearings as they will wear the rod.

Thanks

Carbon steel, case hardened I use. Your screws should be case hardened also.

Its not a hard job to do but there is a "nack" to it, once you work that out you should speed up, so i'd say have a go yourself.

Check a few of the balls as some maybe a different size, if you look on most of the standard Ballnut technical documentations, it gives you the size for the balls in those units, you may find you need something of an imperial flavor however :)

Something like these?

I will check the size of a few of the ball bearings, not sure if I want to repack it but since I have 2 it might be good practise.
