They are proprietary, not an industry-wide standard like ER collets, that is where to buy them from, along with part numbers.

thanks Got a price for a 3.175mm - 1/8" collet from them today £45 + £5 postage for each size, think a chineese ER11 spindle is the way to go. was hoping that someone may know if there Kress there a lot cheaper, google dose not know before some smart arse chimes in with google is your friend

This listing states the range of spindles which the listed collet will fit -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spring-collet-for-Kress-miling-motors-7-5mm-new-/331902104103

I found this listing in 5 minutes using a little intelligent searching using........

Yes, you guessed it, Google!

I was tempted not to bother but it might help someone else later.

It actually looks like they aren't, the part numbers for the 500 and 1050 collets are different and Kress listing suggests they share a fitting with the 1050, not the 500.

This company lists the correct collets near the bottom of the page -

https://www.spline.nl/machines/icp.php#Collets

I don't know if they are still trading or have stock but it's worth asking - again, found using Google and varying search terms!

You'll have noticed that they list different collets for the 500 to the 1050 and it's the 1050 that's common with Kress?

yes I wondered if the small kress was same, rapidly coming to think a ew11 china man spindle may be way forward, deciding which one, and finding a mount that matches with the 100mm T slots

If you know anyone who's handy with a lathe the could make you a nut and a collet or two.

Can you supply the sizes large and small end + length of the collet you want to match to the Kress I have a set of collets and nuts I could check.

Or should I Google.
