Hi, just starting to get materials all rounded up for a new shed/workshop. the size is kind of weird as the only place i can have it is at the side of my house but it goes from 10ft wide all the way down to 4ft at the bottom end of the house and its 24ft long. what thickness should i make the concrete for the cnc machine? i am having the machine at the widest part so i was just going to make that area the thickest to save money.

Are you making a brick or block shed, timber etc. but 100mm concrete with A142 mesh in it will be fine

Well then you would need about 1.5 cubic mts of concrete and two sheets of A142 mesh (merchant size)

Don't forget DPC and adequate insulation under the concrete, I wish my workshop floor had insulation under the concrete, it wasn't even though of 40 years ago :-(

Yes good point. The DPC is a must but the insulation is a nice addition even 50 mm would help.
