Best Wishes and Seasons Greetings to all. Here's hoping Santa has been kind and delivered all the goodies you asked / dreamed for.

If you should by chance partake of a little too much Christmas :beer::beer: Cheer, may your hangovers be slight.

My thanks to Lee and Irving for keeping things running smoothly and to everyone for the encouragement, knowledge and humour that makes this place what it is.

James. from what I've seen of your project in your posts here, you're doing something absolutely awesome with your son.

What ever stage you've reached with your project, you've got there by your willingness to take the first steps, having the courage to ask for help when you needed it and not letting pride get in the way of putting that help to good use.

With or without a finished project, it already sounds like you're making a fine rolemodel!

Merry Christmas :)

On behalf of me and the staff, I would like to thank you all for your support over these past 12 months and your continued effort to contribute, help others and in making the forum the successful place it really is. We look forward to the New Year and what it will bring, we hope you do to!

I would like to especially send out love and thoughts to Irving2008, as some of you know he has been through a near fatal accident (http://www.mycncuk.com/forums/general-discussion/5327-new-life-irving-reborn-after-near-fatal-accident.html) recently and while this could never be convenient for anyone it certainly would have been more convenient a little further away from this time of year.
Please if you will, raise a glass with us this year to Irving and wish him the fastest and best recovery he can make xx

Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

Warm Regards,
The Staff @mycncuk

1- Carbon fibre
2- A truss
3- Lashings of epoxy

Sounds like a good mycncuk challenge for xmas 2013 project threads, who can build the best nutcracker?

Merry christmas one and all, why aren't you all too drunk to type yet?

I spent all Christmas day making helical splines. After about 6 attempts I finally got one that was only slightly stiff to start with and bedded smooth in short order. This is printed in ABS with a 0.15mm (0.006") layer thickness.

I am having so much fun making things I would never have thought possible I am wondering if this 3D printer might actually be better than sex.

OTOH my memory of sex has faded over the years so I could be wrong :frog:

Although I doubt you'll ever see one on Thingiverse, I'm fairly sure that a good few BBC's have been created !

I've decided to get a RepRap kit. If I ever manage to get it working then I'll upgrade to a Form1 if/when they hit the market. I have nephew I can offload the RepRap onto, he's only 8 but already beats me on the Teknologie side of life.

Could I make a long lasting nut cracker on one I wonder?

It is popular so the support should be good. Seeing as how you are on this here site I reckon you wouldn't find it hard to improve on the design

Does it have a heated bed? I'm thinking of lagging the bottom of my bed to stop it dumping too much precious heat before it can get to the edges.

:) There i was about to start the same thread and I find this one instead, thank you xx

Merry Christmas everyone and a happy new year!

I've recently been quite unwell again so haven't been engaged in the forum much, I've been approving new members and that's been about it.

Your all more than welcome with regards to the forum, it takes us both to make it work so we share the success that it is, I'm trying not to put a downer on here but I've been really unwell to the point I can't even walk, so I've been struggling with just getting through every day life, that said my mind is still going full speed ahead and I'm hoping that in the new year I will be able to get on with the ideas and so on I've got for the forum, some new sites to come and the things I've mentioned previously and/or promised. It's mainly content oriented in my plans, with a little "face lift" for the forum to bring it all together how I would like, it's mostly a time thing but as I say, sitting at my desk hasn't really been doable recently but I WILL get there eventually :).

Keep up the good work your all doing and good luck for the new year, I know some of you are waiting on replys from me via email and PM and I will get back to you, I'm not ignoring anyone I promise, please just give me the holiday period to get back on my feet and hopefully a better place regards my health problems.

Merry Christmas everyone, bit late this year but I have a good excuse!

Managed to pick up a brand new left - total knee replacement last Tuesday morning, so I was abit tied up

One down - one to go but not for awhile and not as much of a struggle untill then ...finally I can start moving on with my life and have a better go at things, it's all I've wanted for Christmas for quite a few years now and it's finally been gifted and granted, so I'm over the moon right now as I sit in my living room wrighting this out to you all, leg laid across a dining chair, wrapped in ice packs after a physio session.

Everything went well, I'm trying hard and recovering fast, I'll be forever grateful that is for sure, thank you to the powers that be.
