I've just bought an 800w G-Penny spindle, and after some advice on the initial running-in process - as there is conflicting information online.

The widely accepted minimum recommended frequency for the air cooled spindles is 120Hz (7,200rpm).
The description on the AliExpress listing says to run in progressively from 3,000rpm.
I messaged the seller and they said start from 100Hz (6,000rpm).

Am inclined to follow the sellers advice, but hoping for some real world experience to start me off on the right path! Thanks in advance..

Anything around 100Hz will be fine if you are just warming it up with no load, does it use steel or ceramic bearings.? Ceramic requires a little more warm-up time but can handle heavier loads.

Thanks, just steel bearings. The seller is recommending 2-3 hours no load run-in with increasing speeds every 20-30 mins, I think just to redistribute the grease in the spindle bearings after sitting/shipping etc..

Cheers, Jon.
