View Full Version : NEW MEMBER: i got a toshiba tb6560ahq from ebay

i just get a 36v 10a psu and i set it to 24v and it worked ok then i put it to 30v and the chip exploded after about 1 minite it get advertised it runs upto 36v i heard over people had problems with it. The seller only gives 1 mounth wantary with it i e-mailed the seller probally wont hear anything from him.

thats the second of these that went bang... see here

I think they are unable to cope with the back-emf from a bigger motor and above 30v suffer some catastrophic breakdown... could be the protection diodes are not fast enough...

Ok i have the predecessor to this (5 axis controller). At best i would not recommend this to run over 24v even with the new chips. There is not enough protecttuion in the circuits for these units. To fix the problem you will need to replace the main ic's. check wit the specs,

Anything over 24V DC then you are risking popping the driver chips.
This can be caused by bemf and AC line voltage fluctuation or a combination of both.
