J Parkinson and Son Ltd, Canal Iron Works, Shipley, W Yorks. are now part of Broadbent Stanley. Nothing they make now is that small so from the size of it you are probably talking about an earlier #1A (http://www.hoaremachines.com/Parkson%20Uni%20Mill.htm)as pictured:

They are supported in the UK by http://www.mec-tec.co.uk/ amongst others, might be worth giving them a call.

1300x295 is a big machine

Parkson 2N, 2V, 3N, 3V, M1300 ? - Tony Griffith (lathe.co.uk) has manuals, but his site is a little short on miller info generally (he's a lathe fanatic)

so I discovered Bill... but a little Googling threw up that the smallest machine they made, the 1NA has a bed of ~1320 x 275, everything else is much bigger... The 1NA's go from £3500 to £5600 depending on age/condition. Still a lot bigger than mine!

:yahoo:just picked up parkson milling machine plus vices and lots of collets and cutters a bargain!!
only problem was that it must have weighed 2.5 ton or more, travellled 80 miles to see it so after i bought it,was desperate to uplift it there and then and get it home.
40 mph all the way with van and trailer,i must be mad!!!
has any one else got one of these and could you tell me how it performs??

what model was it in the end, and dare I ask how much?

i doubt anyone on here has even seen one let alone owned one... they are way beyond the size of a home or hobby machine (thats not to say this site is just for home & hobby users! but the majority of us are, with some notable and welcome exceptions - they know who they are). I just wish I had the space to put (and a way to load/offload) a 2.5ton monster!

Nice machines and there were ooodles of extras for them.
Things like vertical heads, slotting heads, high speed heads and even a gear hobbing attachment.

From micro mill to macro mill, you must have a large workshop!!!

Hope its good brick walls, a concrete base and decent roof and not really a 'shed' .. Machine tools don't like the damp!

hi its been a while since i was last on.
since then I have been slowly cleaning up my mill, checking all the levels and giving it a good lube up,I have now got it wired in at my work and have been doing some small jobs for them (I keep looking for excuses to use it :naughty:)
I splashed out and bought a miester dro s/h off of ebay, fitted it up recently and am very pleased with it,seems accurate enough with lots of features that i am still finding out how to use.
any way i've attached some pics etc hope they are ok
cheers Tom....
