At the moment I am using bars of soap to test cuts but they are all quiet small.
Is there any thing that anyone knows that is like saop etc the can be used to test cut the can be made up to be poured into modls etc please.

Paraffin wax ... available from woodworking suppliers ... Liberon make it in 1kg lumps ... low melting point but reasonable price and easy to work with.

Paraffin wax ...

Candles are made from paraffin wax.

Maybe a whole bundle would be cheap from a £ shop

The big problem unless you use soap the cuts won't be as clean

Oh very good lol. Will candle wax be ok with a low melting point was not sure it would cut clean so to speak ?

Kai another option if you want something more substantial to cut is plastic pallets if you can find them. Why not jut use MDF or wood? i always cut test pieces from wood before destroying a good piece of material.Even hardboard works as a cheap option if the cuts aren't too deep?
