Hello Jonathan just a little note to say good luck with you 4 week sponsorship

I'm sure you will do well you are a bright, able young man, just remember to smile and they don’t use left-handed screwdrivers or sell elbow grease at the shop.

I can think of any more pranks but I sure they are loads

Advice- take your own tea cup and smile

James:rofl::rofl:

Or maybe a glass hammer and a metric adjustible spanner...

I remember the teachers at school using the long weight one once or twice. :heehee:

I don't think it's going to be the sort of place with these things - www.cumminsgeneratortechnologies.com/

It was fine - nothing unexpected. I was shown round the bit where they test the generators. No errands yet ...

Ask them tomorrow how often they put a leg out of bed and let us know their reply. :D

Already have, though not in those words...my 'supervisor', who has been there 3 years, said they hardly ever pass the test. From what little I saw they seem to be well within the ratings. One time they did have the generator catch fire due to a 'foreign body' - apparently it looked like a Catherine wheel.

No, you need those words, they have a meaning on generators and large diesels.

Hmm I found the following quote:

' the continuing push of the con. rod tended to smash the piston and sometimes punch its way out of the crankcase side. Railwaymen call this "putting a leg out of bed"'

But there's not really any pistons involved with this...

Sorry, got the wrong end of the stick, though you were working for Cummins ?

Yes I am. Oh I see, the generators are tested with an induction motor not an engine.

Right.....

Just that Cummins is the largest Diesel engine manufacture in the world.
