Been searching the net for some cable prices and came across the following-
http://www.ukcableshop.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=78

Going on other prices i have seen this looks like a very good price, has any one used this company before.

sent them an email and the reply was from this company-

Hmm, looks like their shipping estimate thing is nowhere near! How much do you need, I might be able to help out...

Hi Jonathon,
I need 12 meters

I've got plenty... £1.30 per meter plus whatever Royal Mail (or parcels2go if cheaper) charge for postage. It weighs 130g per meter apparently (not checked).

Ok you have a deal, at least i know it will be the right cable, let me know the total(not over £20 thoughhttp://www.mycncuk.com/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif). Also thinking about limit switches, would these be necessary on my machine. If so what cable is required for these and switches, am i right in believing it's 2 core shielded. for switches i was looking at these-

:) Cheapest postage I can find is Royal mail standard parcels which is £4.41 for 2kg so 1.3*12+4.41=£20.01

not over £20 though

I'll knock off the penny.

RS is expensive, try eBay/Farnell/Rapid or failing that, me.

2-core CY would be good. Thin stuff is fine as it's only a tiny current.

That's what I thought. I've never got round to installing them.

Sorry... I've deleted a few now.

Turns out the cable weighs 119g per meter, so the package weighs just under 1.5kg. Postage is same up to 2kg. Are there any other electrical bits (or whatever) you might need as I've got most things?

I can't think of any thing else at the moment, unless you have a printer cable laying around.

Probably do, I take it you need one with 25 pin D connector on both ends? Is it the same or opposite connectors on either end?
