Dear all,
Just thought I would say hi to everyone as I have just joined the forum. My name is Rob and I am just starting out on a project to make a CNC router after seeing them on the internet and becoming very interested. I have some experience with leadscrews, ballscrews and stepper motors after previously working for a company that made specimin manipulation stages for optical and electron microscopes, however I currently have loads of questions regarding the process of making my own CNC machine.
My starter for ten - Can anyone please recommend good suppliers of the types of components that I am going to need in the UK? I have surfed the net loads to get information for my project, and it seems that many of the suppliers are based in the US. While in our current world of international commerce this isn't such an issue, it would be nice to get my gear from somewhere nearer to home.
