I'm in the process of gathering all the tools I'll need for my build which I don't already own. I've thought of one tool that would be great but cannot for the life of me remember what it's called. It's kind of like a vernier calliper but with a scribe in the centre for marking?

A Scribing Vernier perhaps?
Is it one of these? http://www.amazonsupply.com/mitutoyo-536-221-scribing-carbide-tipped-graduation/dp/B003UATQZW

That's not the tool in question but will be perfect for what I need, thanks.

In which case make one.

El cheapo vernier with one leg sharpened on the grinding wheel.

Far better value and easier to read than the genuine article. :tan:

John S.I bought a couple as a special at Aldi a while back at £3.99 apiece. Good value, but I was still pissed off a fortnight later when I found they were on sale for £2.99.

I bought one like that a few years ago at Lidl. It didn't work when I got it, I needed to re-wire the battery connections to the PCB. Been working ever since!
