It's an actual case, a home electronics plastic housing.

improve product design, increase the hole as shown below.

So you are saying the sliding component used to make the transverse hole had some spring in it and gave the kind of scuff mark usually associated with insufficient draft angle and a sparked finish?

I can see how the new hole would reduce the force springing the slide open, but somehow it doesn't look big enough???

Hi, Robin (http://www.mycncuk.com/forums/member.php/68-Robin-Hewitt) . Yes, increase draft angle is a method. But this Product shape design is not allow the change of draft angle.
