Hi all

Just a newbie in the world for cnc (apprentice)

as most know its hard for young people to gain employment so endured 3 years of college on the verge of joining a university in September 2012 until in the final months of college i had my name put forward for an apprenticeship and after an interview was accepted. straight in as a 3rd year due to finish my time in august 14, may be boring but thought id give you all a little background info about myself

It's good to think apprenticeships are maybe making a come-back!

Andy couldn't agree more as long as they are proper apprenticeships & not just Companies taking on people cheaply to get funding & not training them properly

Hi CGR, welcome. Did an apprenticeship myself and it was a great experience. Long time ago now but the (practical) approach is a good one, when I had job interviews following my apprenticeship I took along a project I made as a hobby at the time, it helped. There's plenty of knowledge and support here to provide inspiration if you decide to make a little machine.
