Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if there is anywhere in the UK I can purchase optical encoders for the usual type of stepper motor, say the average NEMA 23 sized motors from Zapp etc.

I found this one web site in Germany:
http://en.nanotec.com/steppermotors_encoder.html

But you can't purchase unless you have a VAT no. Which I don't. Maybe someone can help with that?

I also tried asking MCP via email, to which I got not reply, but that was some time ago now.

Can anyone recommend somewhere?

Thanks,
Dave.

Hi Dave

Have you looked on the Farnell website they have Several incremental shaft encoders with various Resolutions. The main stumbling block could be the shaft size avalible, you may need to make an adapter to get to fit your motor shaft.
