I am currently designing a replacement for my MDF router, and came across these linear rails.

ROLLON Compact rail (http://www.rollon.com/english/prodotti/CompactRail.htm)
and Accuride (http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/linear-guides-rails/7871474/)
Has anyone used them for a cnc machine?
How do they compare to the other options?

looks like it's been a while since you asked , but i just seen it ,, Yes I have used rollon compact rail to build my plasma table ,, I got some tlc63 and ulc63 rails with carriages off ebay cheap,, slightly used but looked good and they have been working like a charm. I think I could have went with much smaller size , but that's what I found so i used it. very strong and precise.. movement is smooth and I'm getting about 700 IPM travel using rack and pinion drive.I actually just tack welded the gear rack directly to the rail as to avoid misalignment issues. If you do weld the rack to the rails , keep the heat down and just use small tack welds to avoid getting the rail too hot.I didn't want to chance taking any hardness out of the rail from the heat. I think i could have easily got by with the 35 size rail , maybe even the 28 size.My machine is 5 ft x 10 ft.
