Hello All,

I have a set of SBR16UU linear bearing blocks. There are four mounting holes and in the centre a set screw.
Before I mount the bearings, I want to know if I need access to the set screw. What is it for? I suspect it is for removing the
linear bearing from the mounting block. But it could be for some kind of adjustment (I think this is unlikely but worth asking
before I make the screw completely inaccessible. Thanks for any help.

Neil.

Just in case my original description was vague, I have added a marked-up picture of a bearing block similar to mine.

Thanks,

The center hole is primarily to keep the bearing in place. The one in the side is used to try and eliminate play in the bearing.

Thanks Jonathan, That implies that I can cover the central hole and not regret it later when I have to strip the machine the down to make an adjustment.
