Hi fellas,

I've finally got the machine and am now working on designing the lay out etc
Today I've got a cheap but powerful computer up and running in a chest of draws out the way. It works perfectly and is quite powerful !!
Tomorrow I will receive the CNC electrics and will update again :)
I need to drill some holes in the back to allow the heat of the electrics to escape too :)

You don't really need a powerful PC far more important is PC with a Good parallel port. Do the driver test in Mach3 folder to check it out.
One problem that can affect more powerful and modern PC's is that they use PP that use 3V not 5V and this becomes a problem for the drives as there's not enough difference in Logic signals so can get strange happenings. This can be made worse by using cheap BOB's that have slow opto's inside.

So if you have a 3V PP then try to find a better quality BOB that pulls the signals to 5V.

I'm using an external 24 volt power supply. And in using a usb break out board so it isn't through a parallel port.
