hi all, anyone know the best place to get some locline pipe and adaptors.

would having it shipped from USA be cheaper.
or does time the customs charge you, it isnt worth it.

Filtermist (I think they're actually the UK distributor) sell direct - http://www.filtermist.co.uk/buy-now/

I bought some 1/2" stuff from them last year, as they were the only one who had all the bits I needed.

Chronos have a lot of coolant hose, but be wary - if it isn't locline it probably won't join up with locline properly ! I bought their 1/4" kit and the pliers were plastic and too flexy to work properly. I probably have enough of the bits left to do my next project.

well i checked filtermist out and they want £94
modularhose want $60 delivered thats about £40, then i guess you got vat on that
and any custom charges ??

cropwell , yer i know chronos do locline bits, but not all the bits im wanting.
and they aint cheap either.

yer i found out locline bits dont fit other hoses and vice versa.

i got a locline spray bar to go on my hose on the bandsaw, turns out the hose isnt locline, but a cheaper brand. the line is smaller then locline parts, so just flops about and leaks.
but the cheaper line seems to have a NPT adaptor, yet the locline i have are BSPT.

DOH !!!
so i need a locline NPT adaptor to make it fit.

anyways i need to find out how much customs will sting me before i decide on ordering.

I just ordered this http://www.aliexpress.com/item/12pcs-Flexible-Plastic-Water-Oil-Coolant-Pipe-Hose-For-Lathe-CNC-With-Switch/2012695829.html I need it for a machine I am building and for a glassblower mate who has a couple of double ended diamond lathes, which need lots of water. I have yet to see if it fits the Chronos bits I have (which are also Chinese in origin). If they do not fit I can still do the jobs with the stuff ordered, and $12.33 is under the customs limit, which I think is about £11. It could be crap when it arrives, BUT at about £8 I think it is worth a punt.

NPT 1/4" is 18tpi and BSP 1/4" is 19 - The plastic threads will deform to 'fit' with thread tape.
NPT 1/8" is 27tpi and BSP 1/8" is 28 - you probably wouldn't notice the difference there !

I have got taps and dies for some of these anyway, NPT is a tapered thread - if you are being picky about things and BSP is available in both parallel and tapered flavours. I don't like the tapered ones as I live in a parallel universe.

aww cropwell those hoses look familiar

http://www.mycncuk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=14490&stc=1

2 purple ones, cant remember where i got em.
2 blue ones , i think came from RDG tools
1 locline, with spray bar end.

purple one with the connector missing was on bandsaw
http://www.mycncuk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=14491&stc=1

but locline spray bar end doesn't fit on pipe and the brass fitting is NPT thread
and the locline is BSPT, but i know they do BSPT and NPT connectors

so im going to get correct connector for that.

and for changing pipes from spray bar end to normal nozzle.
as now i got an through coolant boring bar.

i thought about making it quick change with air fittings.

same as what i did with the coolant tanks between bandsaw, lathe and mill.

i have taps and dies for 1/8" and 1/4" bsp.
but not the NPT ones. but it will be easier and cheaper to just get the correct locline connector
