Hi everybody.
Has anybody fitted DROs to a SPG 2217 its similar to the AMA 25v or the Grizzly G0704.
Im partially disabled so any help is very helpful.
What I need to know is what is the size that was used on the X & Y axis.
How did you fit one to the Y axis it looks like Im going to have to machine a couple of mounting blocks for the scales.
Any advice would be very uesful

Cheers

Neil

Evening Neil, I have a Warco WM18 (a clone near enough of your SPG machine) mill that is being converted to CNC operation. As part of the purchase of this machine it came with a 3 axis DRO kit. I will take some pictures of the method used to fit the 3 axis in the morning and post them ASAP. The main thing is to ensure that the read heads and rails are parallel to the axis movements so some adjustment in the mounting blocks is necessary.
Regards,
ECCO.

Here you go http://www.rootprompt.co.uk/2010/03/11/wm18-dro-installation-y-axis/

Although the Warco equivalent is a WM16

Im thinking of getting the SPG 2217-lll LV for my birthday, and im going to keep it manual and add dros and a powerfeed for my v8 engine project.
