CNC gurus,

Does anyone know what software creates GD4 files ? I have been given one and asked If I can do anything with it. Google searches turned up noting useful.
Its for a gasket and I'm pretty sure its the file thats sent to a digital drag knife to cut.
Its a bit of a long shot but Id like to try to convert it to something usable (DXF,EPS, or any vector file really).

I know that its possible to convert g-code to dxf, I'm just not sure If this is.

Any suggestions welcome.

Only thing i can find out is:
the gd3 file may have come from an old program called Gendesigner, which unfortunately is no longer available for download.

If you want to send it to me or upload it to a post, I can look at the hex code for you, the name of the program that made the file maybe given here...

I've had a look and pulled what I can, it looks as though it's from a Visual Basic project, and so is likely to be one file from a set of files that make up that project, I'm not sure it actually holds the gcode your looking for but rather points to each of the files that dose. If you can get all of the files from the project folder you could import the project into the latest Visual Studio and see how far you get, my experience with this is you end up having to track down the components needed for VB/VS to successfully do the import. The code below is the only thing i could find that resembles what may be coordinates, not sure if there is anything you can do with it.

Towards the bottom of the code below is says "Husaberg 501 Water Pump", goggling this gives lots of results but I came to the conclusion that the same pump is used on many models of bike, this then took me on my travels towards gaskets and sets and I think that is what this "Project" was/is, a set of drawings for the individual gaskets, attached is also what looks to be a scan of the gaskets for the pump.

You could import this scan into your favourite CAD programme and start building/drawing models for each gasket, the problem is your missing the dimensions, so you could either work out those demission's by measuring the related pump hardware OR just buy a set of gaskets and take the dimensions from those...
