Hi All,

After showing the emerging 4th axis on my build log, I figured the continuation of the Lightsaber build should go here, as it would be off topic for that thread. New vid shows my shoddy lathe skills on my Sieg SC4 and I'm dead chuffed with the 4 jaw chuck on the tailstock and dial gauge combo (given the expertise on the forum I'll go get my welding gear on for flame protection ;) ):

Also link to the first vid in case anyone missed it:

More as I get the time to work on it.......

Great! May the force be with you!

This Jedi wants now one too...

The way he is removing the swarf with his hands is not recommended. I did that once and ended up nearly cutting the end of my finger off with a length of swarf being pulled out of my hand.
Last time i did that.

Hi All,

Been months since I got any time on the lathe to work on the lightsaber project, but now finally a couple of videos.

This one shows more health and safety infringements on the lathe (amongst some other nasties like trying to remember how to do threading):

and this one I'm hoping gets me some way off of the watch list for cruelty to cutters ;)

Hi all,

More shoddy lathe work in the next part of the Light Saber saga (going to have to do something about my steady rest):

What will you use for a power source?

Probably a small LiPo of some kind (3.7v single cell) although there is room for some of the thinner but higher capacity batteries I use for airsoft. Also depends on the circuit board and whether that has LiPo low voltage protection etc.
