I'm looking for something in the "Tuppence and a Balloon" price range that will machine anything from used chewing gum at room temperature to tool steel at ~ Rockwell 90.
I'm not being put off from wanting it "fer nowt" cos I is from Yorkshire and that's what I'm willing to spend in order to get a business going and make a mint, can anyone suggest the right machine for me?
Thanks,
Nick

Better than trying to wise up a chump on their own thread though, I'm with W.C Fields on that one ;-)

I believe the right machine for you to do all, 5 in 1, could be no other than some "merchant" and "dice" one. :hysterical: , But better start on a 3040 one, price wise. For starters use your Dremel and later upgrade with Kress. You know many people mill steel with that combo on youtube.

Very very nice. Not sure it would cope with the used chewing gum though.

That's excellent, absolutely I love the way they've integrated circular interpolation into just the motion of the Z axis!
This could be just what Boyan needs for his gem drilling project!

Not many cnc videos give you that warm feeling inside, but this definitely does! If I feel like my build is lacking, I watch this and feel ok again.

Just like watching Mrs Brown this video always makes me laugh and puts big smile on face. .:loyal:

EDIT: Infact that Video should be Put on Sticky with the heading "How Not to Build a CNC"
