Hello,

I am an engineer by profession and have been quietly dreaming of getting a benchtop CNC of some sort to play with for a while. Recently been offered, and allowed to borrow, an old CNC router and am working to make it high enough up the learning curve to know whether CNC and this machine in particular are for me.

I'll try to not ask too many really dumb questions!

Cheers

Chris

ChrisHi and welcome to the forum Chris ask as many (as you put it) dumb questions as you like as there are no dumb questions only dumb answers.

Hi Chris
Welcome to the forum and I too am in Bedfordshire and building my first CNC router (here (http://www.mycncuk.com/threads/8206-Ar-last%21%21%21-Started-my-Gantry-3-Axis-CNC-Build)). The guys here are very patient and so helpful. Saved me a lot of time and grief by taking their advice! So don't hesitate to ask your questions, but also search the forum throughly because the question has probably been asked before and answered!

Regards
Mike C
