Hello

I have bought a Denford V4 microrouter, built in 2002. The commutator on the router is completely scrap so i need to replace it and i was wondering if anyone could offer advice and suggestions.

I'm not really a fan of brushed motors, so i'd really like a brushless spindle if i have to replace the router anyway. I am learning as much as i can from this forum, CNC is a very interesting subject and am really look forward to building my own machine but until that time if anyone could offer advice on how to do this conversion or offer links/guides it would be very appreciated.

This is the router in the machine currently that needs replacing:

18427

On the information sticker on the machine the control voltage of the machine is 24v and the existing router is just On/Off so there must be some type of potentiometer or along them lines adjusting speed.

The machine sticker states it is 1.1kw DC but the router sticker states AC.

As mentioned above if anyone could link me some spindles with controllers they seem fit i would appreciate it, i would like to get this up and running again.

Cheers

That's cool, you could share the details, it may help others with a similar problem at a later date ;-)

I found all the circuit diagrams and opened the machine up and had a look. It will work on paper and have ordered the necessary parts, once i have it installed and have it running i will make a write up and share :)
