Hi Kip,

Thanks for the interest in our controller, we have been making stepper motor controllers and machines since 1985, this is our newest controller and the first we have decided to sell as a standalone product.
With the increased performance of modern microcontrollers we have been able to design a powerfull motion controller at a very competitive price.

As for the 2A limitation, this has proved ideal for our standard machines which use Type 17 or Type 23 motors. Our machines are in general small engraving and routing machine, size wise these are 450mm(X) x 310mm(Y) x 75mm(Z).

Should you been higher power stepper drives then we do have another drive in development that will be 7A, 50V capable. Alternatively you could take the step/direction signals from the drive sockets to control external drives.

Regards,
Simon

The prototypes have been in use for the last few months, I'm expecting to have the first production batch ready approx end of Feb2009.

I will post more information when they are ready.

Thanks,
Simon

Has there been any further development in the 7A, 50V drives.

Hi,
We are still deciding on the final layout and packaging, we have a couple of options but just can't decide which is best. I will make it a priority to decide by the end of February. This should allow use to have the first production items ready by mid April.

I’m not sure, Simon will need to confirm about the new cnc driver board / card.
I'm also waiting to see it; do you make your own PCB's Simon? If not who do you use to get them made, just wondering if it’s a UK supplier or not.

Not really related but we had some PCB's made in China recently, quick delivery, excellent quality, good price. shame really
