I have decided that I am going to start again with my rockcliff build, and I don't know whether to build a machine of my own design around my rails and bushings (16mm shaft, 20mm od oilite bushings) , or to build a standard rockcliff model A.

The shafts I have are :

x2pcs W16(h6) x 370mm Round Rail
x2pcs W16(h6) x 575mm Round Rails
x2pcs W16(h6) x 720mm Round Rails

Here is a snapshot of the machine I drew up,

The base is 720 X 50mm, and the gantry sides are 500mm tall.
The bushings would slot into 20mm holes to allow for the gantry to slide along the shafts, and shafts are supported in 16mm holes. On the right is the X/Z axis design, the part laying on the ground slots into the upright piece which is attached to the gantry through rails with bushings.

Please could you tell me if this design is likely to work, any problems with it, improvements etc. as I will get the wood cut later.

Just noticed that the X/Z housing will hit the top gantry brace, so ignore that ;)

Just noticed I put it in wrong sub-board, could someone move please
