Collet Case - a conversion
I had these ER20 collets rattling about in a box so I decided to make a case for them.
The donor case was made by my son 25 years ago as a Degree Show (BA 3D Design) exhibit and it contained a 'partickly narsty' bladed knuckle duster (which has been cut up long since). I knocked out the bottom and made a new one to give extra depth and then made a sandwich of closed cell foams to cut an insert.
There are a couple of obvious faults - the sapele insert had a corner knocked off and the catch is not on straight. Also the double sided tape used to hold the foam sandwich to a piece of HIPS got smeared on the foam cut-outs.
But it looks nicer in the workshop than the plastic box the collets were in.

Very nice Rob, you must have too much time on your hands:cool:

Clive - look at the brass lid - you can't see the joins at the corners. When I said to my lad that that must have taken some skill and patience, he said 'It's just metalwork Dad!'.

Ahh - won't be long before the box is empty and the collets are rolling around on the bench-top..!
(Looking good though Rob!)

I rest my case.
Or rather, your (soon to be lost) case...
Wal.
