I build one of those about a year now,it is cheap and easy to build. I use it with my cnc, band saw, router table and some times I remove the dust from the workshop floor. Works grate.

Thanks :)
Tbh, I don;t have time to make anything. I have seen add on cyclone units though. Would that be an idea to put inbetween my henry and the CNC?
If you have the materials it is barely one hour work.
Yes you put the cyclone in from of the Henry and you place a plastic tube, like the one your vacuum cleaner has, on the cyclone.
Then connect this hose to your dust shoe...
Suction do the rest, the really good thing is that all the dust goes in the cyclone and the cleaner's bag stays always clean.
I have a small workshop and build guitars as a hobby and also do much woodworking, I empty the bucket once every three months.
You've probably spent more time thinking about a cyclone than it takes to build one lol.
Cheers guys.
I am going to get one of these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUST-COMMA...-/121320651132
I watched a few Youtube vids and it seems the homemade ones, made from a tub don't work as well when they start to fill up.

Just hope the Henry is powerful enough to suck up all the MDF dust, otherwise will have to replace that with somerthing a bit more powerful.
You need best 2 stage vacuum cleaner with 40-60mm hose. Llavor 32 is the cleaner i use. I have 2 of them in fact. Italian motor inside, can work 24h non stop http://en.lavorwash.com/products/view/gnx-32
Could do with the Henry, they had 2 stage model i think.
Now i am selling dust shoes so have that in mind as a disclaimer, but you need a well made dust shoe where you will not loose the pressure from the long brushes. if the shoe is right, any vacuum cleaner will do well normal jobs. Still for surfacing you need the shoe to be well designed. If you have a 3d printer just follow my link from signature and Thingverse you will find the design for free. or drop me a line if you need a special size combination. I will upload it there.
Hey Straker, not sure if you've got one already, but ebay has cheaper versions of the Dust-Commander.
I bought one for £14.80. Something like this:

Got myself a 60 litre blue plastic barrel for it too. Costing around £8
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Storage-Ba...item3f858a3ff4
If your Henry isn't powerful enough, Wickes sell a great vacuum cleaner for around £40

I've been using and abusing one of those Wickes vacuum cleaners for the best part of 5 years now. When it blows up, as it must do one of these days considering the amount of dust (and plaster, concrete, metal swarf...) that goes into it, I'll junk it and get another one. Very interested to take a closer look at those cheap eBay cyclone separators, though.
