Re: Gav's Caravan Project.
If it was on the telly it would be called, "Pimp my Trailer"
Maybe there is a timber yard, kitchen fitters, shop fitters, or similar that have loads of offcuts that would do ?

Why the F@#K would you want or waste good timber on a floor that looks like a load of squashed frogs.? . . :hysterical:

I think it's very nice, it's also nice to see a well thought out analytical aproach to a mathematical problem,

that floor looks awesome...cant wait to get my own toy to play with...
Re: Gav's Caravan Project.
What was the actual wood you used? don't see it on the blog
Re: Gav's Caravan Project.
I thought it said veneered MDF was chosed over veneered ply for it's clean cutting at the corners?
Re: Gav's Caravan Project.
I think he used 6mm oak veneered mdf, he also said if he could do it again he would try and find a veneer with a thicker oak section so he could sand the whole thing down afterwards. You can see some of the lizards do not sit flush which is a shame cause the veneer is so thin he cannot level it off with floor sander.
Re: Gav's Caravan Project.
Yes i read it again...doh! I did something similar for a friend with a Moroccan pattern and used pallet wood for the job. I used tea to add tanning and then stained it with wire wool steeped in white vinegar.
