Wiring a motor - as a newbie!
Hey d-man, those curly bits are the windings of the stepper motor. So from your pic you would join the YEL and BLU together and the ORG and BRN. Then run the remaining 4 to your stepper driver.
I'm sure someone who has a clue what they are talking about will be along shortly with better info so best you wait for them!

Re: Wiring a motor - as a newbie!
Ah that does make sense! cheers pal!
however my current setup runs 4 pins and this one will work out as 6, or are you saying that the joined wires dont go to anything which would result in 4 pins :)
Re: Wiring a motor - as a newbie!
Are you sure you want to use that way to connect the motor ? that's a series connection, most would recommend the parallel connection.
A+ Red
A- Black
B+ White
B- Green
Yellow & Blue, connected together but going nowhere, just insulate once joined.
Orange & Brown, connected together but going nowhere, just insulate once joined.
Re: Wiring a motor - as a newbie!
Well it was just to try get my head around it Eddie, then i looked at the parallel connection and started to smell smoke (From my brain!) Parallel connection here http://prntscr.com/4wyek3

Re: Wiring a motor - as a newbie!
