Home made Pneumatic clamp completed
Just completed a pneumatic clamp for the VMC190
I had seen a clamp for sale via ebay but being a tight Yorkshireman didnt want to stump up the 250 they wanted for it ! :sulkiness:
Cobbled this up over a weekend and got it up and running on the machine. I wouldn't do any heavy machining on it but its surprising how tight it holds stuff !! First job was to machine out some Oak for a watch display.
It fixes to my vac table with which I have tapped many of the holes so I can configure it anywhere pretty much. I have a thin static side as well as a full hight static side so can easy swap it around for different materials.
I can also fix my normal machine vice to the vac table so now im covered for engraving on thin flat with the vac table. Lightish work on wood and plastics etc using the pneumatic clamp and heavier stuff on the normal machine vice.
Win win :friendly_wink:
Ive added a couple of pics of the build though im sure most here will be confident in constructing something similar.
