Re: BobCad Chamfering help
Hello Craig,
Yes I can help you! So you are having problems with using the chamfering feature, I have some questions for you.
1) What version of BobCAD are you using?
2) Are you using a sharp bottom tool or Flat bottom tool?
3) When you say you had a crash what happened?
4) Can you share a drawing file and or the parameters you used when you had the issue?

* The above code is based on a 1/2" Sharp bottom tool that has a .1 cutter position and a chamfer depth of .03

* The above code is based on all the same settings except the cutter position is now set to .05
What you'll notice is the greater the cutter position is the the deeper in Z the tool will go.

This video shows with no sound ( sorry) why the tool will cutter deeper in Z when you adjust the cutter position.

On my laptop I created the tool path 3 times and had the same issue of it plunging randomly about 10mm away from the chamfer (almost like Bobcad had a bigger tool than I told it)
Then I came to my other PC and I did EXACTLY the same path, and it works perfect.
Since I reinstalled BobCad and it all works okay now.
Thanks for the help
