DraftSight is a clone of AutoCad and is free, so you could put that on your laptop. Sketchup is crap for a lot of things !

Hi all just tried the same drawing in autocad using a polyline and saved it as the older autocad version and opened it on the pacer software that way, all works as it should :)
thanks for your help no doubt they'll be more questions soon!
