Why don't we make any sticky threads with some standard design techniques for Frame, Gantry and Z-axis?
I know everyone wants to take a slightly different route but there are some basic good paths you can choose and some not so good ones too. A couple of images of each method with some pros and cons listed next to them would make the first steps really easy for beginners.
