Surface Grinder - Elliott 618 - Any Good?
Considering this at the moment, looks to be a lot of good things that can be done with a semi decent grinder.

Very little info about them. The Jones & Shipman 540 is a lot more common.
Thoughts?

In case you want to automate it somehow, I once worked on a large grinder that used a microphone to detect when the wheel touched the workpiece. It used a notch filter to detect a small band of frequencies that occured when grinding commenced.
