Tormach 1100 Series 3 Mill with 12 Station ATC and 4th axis. + toolholders

Ok, First I don't own this machine I'm just posting for a friend.

The machine is a Tormach 1100 series 3 which has had very low usage, approx 102 running hours on the spindle, based on the run time of the VFD parameters.
Built-in July 2015/16 and purchased in 2017. No words or pictures can do justice to how good a condition this machine is in, IMO it's got to be the nearest to a new machine you can get.!

The machine is fitted with a 12 Station ATC that was built and fitted by the owner and myself, which is much stronger, and more robust than what Tormach supply as standard. Using Hiwin linear rail and Nema 23 motors for the in/out and carousel operations, fastened to a very sturdy mounting bracket using the standard Tormach mounting holes. (no modifications have been done to the original chassis)

It uses a separate electronic controller which is integrated into the PathPilot software. However, PathPilot knows nothing about this and works just as if it was using the original ATC supplied by Tormach. The ATC controller sits in the background and deals with all the movement of the carousel etc then sends PathPilot all the necessary info it needs to work. To the operator, it works and operates in PathPilot just like a genuine Tormach ATC.

Not only is the ATC better and stronger IMO, it's also safer than Tormach's as we have built-in safety features so if the tool snags or doesn't release or drops the tool holder an E-stop will occur. Likewise, if it travels too far in a downwards direction, an E-stop will occur to protect the carousel from damage. Also, an air blast is fitted to clean the tool holders of chips before entering the spindle.

With the machine are a large amount of TTS tool holders and ER/R8 collets in various sizes Er20, 25, 32 etc (see pics). Also various tool special holders like Fly cutter, Drill chuck, Slitting saw, tapping head, etc.
Also provided is a Granite block with a tool height setter. However, fitted on the machine is a wired tool height setter which can be used within PathPilot to automatically measure tool heights.

Lastly, there is a Tormach 4th axis and chuck with various jaws. The machine is set up with a drive etc, the 4th axis simply plugs into the control box.
Looking at the condition of the 4th axis/chuck I'd be surprised if it's been used more than a dozen times and could be boxed up as new.!

Supplied with the machine is the Tormach lifting kit in a wooden case. (See pic)

Other little extras fitted are separate MPG controls for each axis so can be used like a manual machine, Coolant, and Air controlled from the PathPilot screen. Along with automatic way oilers etc as fit by Tormach.

There has been a spindle encoder fitted so that the machine can do rigid tapping without the use of a tapping head.

This is a very well cared for but rarely used machine which doesn't come around very often in the UK so anyone who is seriously looking for a very capable machine at a fraction of the cost of a new Tormach would be well advised to buy it.
