Offline CNC Programmer Position for Arbroath based Oil Tool Manufacturer

We are a small to medium sized precision engineering firm based in Arbroath, Scotland specialising in the design and manufacturing of a wide variety of tooling for the oil industry. Our products cover fishing, junk retrieval, casing repair, cutters, mills and accessories.


The primary job functions are:

-To offline program both milling and turning CNC machines.

-To ensure programs are available for planned work.

-To assist in the setting and operation of machinery as necessary.

-To manage and maintain the program control database


Our requirements of the applicant are:

-Proficiency in the use of Edgecam software for both programming and editing.

-Knowledge of Fanuc, Siemans & Heidenhain control systems.

-Must be knowledgeable in both milling and turning operations.

-Would be advantageous to have 5 axis milling experience.

-A good general knowledge of milling and turning tools.


The position is a one man operation so the applicant will need to be able to work well on their own and operate in a time critical environment. Despite this he will be required to liaise with all shop floor machinists as well as the Production, Design and tooling departments, so the ability to work well with others is a necessity.

Salary: £15-£18 per hour depending on skill level.

Also it must be noted that we are temporarily operating on a 4 day week due to the downturn in the oil industry though intend to get back onto a 5 day week as soon as possible.
