small update with the new setup, extraction system is all done, just sorting the power supply to the rear fans, I bought a transformer but its ac - ac instead of dc so need to get another one then that will be able to power the fans via a variable speed controller. small progress but starting to look the part
Hi there mate, good progress! Interesting extraction, are you expecting to blow down the duct? Might be more effective to suck through the duct? Anyway assuming your Fans are 12v then something like this will work fine:

thanks for the positive comments, I will be using the rear fans to just encourage the dust from the carbon fibre (as thats what I will mostly be machining) towards that duct, that duct is connected to a industrial extractor which is housed underneath the cnc machine, that cupboard underneath has been insulated with carpet to help reduce noise. I currently have a power control box I am making for the spindle, so was installing a transformer within that to keep everything neat, im just going to tap off the 240v incoming supply to the spindle power pack then run that through a transformer then to the fan controller. here you can see the control power box im making, and also the adjustable fan controller, i bought a transformer this weekend but its ac not dc so buying another one which will hopefully sort it out. This is all a trial and I have no idea how it will perform, even if it doesn't do much the fans have led's on them so its disco time in the enclosure lol
Well ive finally got my cnc setup to a level I am happy with, had a lot of issues the past week. Firstly the pc fans I got of ebay were very cool with the led's but they were piss poor at moving air so I ended up ripping a few pc's apart to get some much more powerful fans.
To power the fans I got a laptop power pack and started stripping it back, I replaced the kettle plug with wires to be hard wired into the 240 supply to the spindle power pack.

The output to the fans was controlled via a small toggle switch. I then secured the powerpack with hot glue onto the main power pack. I have got another fan to aid cooling within this box but I was very surprised as to how not hot the box gets so I dont think there is any need for an additional fan, will see how it goes. Also wired in a probe sensor for tool changes, works a treat. Makes me nervous though the the z axis goes down to meet it

And here is how my setup has finished off with the enclosure fully panelled with perspec and a latch on the front door, only thing left is to swop the desktop pc with a docking station for my small laptop, just need to swop and register all the software im using, im pretty happy with the setup, would like to hear your thoughts on what you lot think. Its only a small workshop so I have tried to be as efficient with space as possible.
