    How to attach 1mm aluminium sheet to 3mm hardwood neatly.
    I cant rivet it as its going on wood.. Screwing may be tricky as Id like the ali to be flush.

    The sheet will be sat on more than one section of wood,

    Any thoughts from the forum massiv ?

    Please look at the attachment
    Is the 3mm hardwood side visible to the end user?
    If not, how about a thick angle bracket riveted to the hardwood board, then a countersunk screw bolted through the aluminium plate into the angle bracket.
    This will not be massively strong as it is only held on by the top part of the countersink. It will also need accurate countersink holes drilling but it does give a flush solution.
    If you don't want to see the screw head then maybe you could glue the bracket to the aluminium sheet.

    Impact adhesive, get it right first time though! ;-)
    Standard technique is to use large sheets of brown paper between the glued surfaces whilst positioning and to remove the paper only when ready to bond in final position.
    You think that's too expensive? You're not a Model Engineer are you? :D

    Not sure if the bonding area is big enough for impact adhesive? Depends on load? I would go for fillet of epoxy, thickened to suit, but maybe fillet would get in the way later.
