Hi all, I am in the process of selecting a basic CNC router with an 8x4 foot bed, for woodworking. I'll be setting up a small business making and selling furniture and storage items, plus offering cutting services locally in the North West of the UK.

My background is mechanical engineering and product design at university, then work as a packaging designer for Crown Cork & Seal - a huge US firm you will never have heard of. They make a lot of the world's coke cans, plastic bottles, medical devices and so on. I did lots of 3D CAD, prototyping and modelmaking.

I then worked in IT and was a holiday property rental agent, but now finally want a 'real' business I can run myself.

I look forward to exploring these forums, making some posts, and sorry in advance for all the questions!

Hey we've all done it before, didn't want everyone to suddenly start replying to a thread which has been abandoned :)
