  1. hi, i found this site by accident and thought why not join up.
    i am attempting to build my own cnc router, on a very limited budget, so far just the frame done, now to do the drives and gantry for the cutter.
    i yhad thought about a rack and pinion (instead of screw) drive for the sides of the gantry, any reasons why not?
    i look forward to your thoughts.
    anyone else in somerset doing the same thing?
    maybe we could get together and swop info.

    I think the guys here will say they would prefer RP over screws.

    i am a member of the other cnc forum, whos name escapes me at this time.
