CorWave, a medical device company, is actively looking for an English-speaking machinist in charge of the manufacturing of prototypes. The management of the company is international including several American citizen therefore English is the working language. Based in Paris, CorWave is a medical technology company developing implanted heart pumps (Left Ventricular Assist Devices) with the goal of improving the lives of people with heart failure.
The CorWave membrane pump is a disruptive technology protected by over 50 patents and resulting from 20 years of research. Backed by leading investors (Bpifrance, Medtronic, Novo, Seventure, Sofinnova, Ysios) and renowned surgeons, CorWave aims to become a major player in cardiac surgery.

Responsibilities

Working in an English-speaking and fast-paced environment, you will set up and operate a mechanical workshop with the goal of bringing CorWave’s prototyping activity in-house.

You will work hand in hand with high-level engineers to manufacture prototypes built for the design iterations and validations of our innovative heart pumps. Your missions will include:

• Lead drawings analysis and define the machining sequence (choices of tools and cutting)
• Key early input to designs for manufacturability
• Manufacture prototypes from CAD drawings, sketches and discussions with engineers
• Find innovative manufacturing solution that minimize costs and manufacturing time
• Check conformity and quality of the manufactured parts
• Manage machines maintenance
Qualifications
Having 10 years of experience or more in a machining workshop you have a large set of skills and expertise:
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in metrology and precision machining
• Advanced knowledge of and experience operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine and CAM software
• Hands-on experience with conventional turning / milling machines
• Experience with prototyping and machining of metals (including titanium) and plastics

Passionate by manual work, you have basic knowledge about management and a good command of either English or French. Animated by a strong a team spirit, autonomous, rigorous and skilled you are the Sr Machinist / Prototyper for whom CorWave is searching.
