    hi,

Thanks to Google I stumbled into this forum. A colleague of mine gave me an EMCO Compact5 lathe/milling combo (non-CNC btw) which he inherited from his father. Hows that for a present

In the meantime I have moved the milling part of it to a much larger XY-table, got a higher column made for it, changed the mount of the milling head, bought the gears for the lathe to drive the x-feed etc. I am by no means an experienced machinist, still learning new things everytime I use it.

I am located in Arnhem, the Netherlands (probably known of a Bridge too Far). I am an EE/CS by training, so please bear with me when it comes to mechanical engineering and its terminology.

    cheers,
    Wilko
