DIYCNC.co.uk have pulled out all the stops yet again with the new System4 card !!!

System 4 is a new MODULAR all in one 4 axis unit with optional spindle control module and can be loaded to your own particular requirements.

With a standard parallel port connection, buffered outputs, opto isolated inputs, integrated charge pump circuit and power save function !

At just £45 for the ready built unit, check it out:

Very nice - although it's £45 for the base unit, and then £20 for each stepper unit, and £25 for the spindle (I was wondering how they could make all of that for £45).

Although their drop-downs in the cart don't seem to reflect the prices

You don't have to use Roy's drivers either if you have a need for more powerful ones.

He does a small connector strip that plugs in instead of the driver.
Total cost will be a bit more that just buying a breakout board but the hassle saved is well worth it if you want the full system with spindle speed.

You probably save the extra though in not having separate power supplies especially if you run something like an X3 where it needs an independent supply for the spindle board or it fries the lot.

  4. Its a great setup having it modular like that.
While being more expensive than the boards comming in from China, it is far more flexible and of course better quality.
