Boxford VMC 300 CNC Milling machine

This is a Boxford VMC 300 CNC Milling machine with Auto Tool Changer

This is a fully converted mach3 machine with integrated ATC and flood coolant
The machine has been converted with the best possible components:
    • Smooth Stepper Ethernet board for motion control
    • PMDX-126 Breakout board
    • Leadshine DM2282 Stepper Drivers (240V AC powered)
    • Leadshine NEMA 34 Motors (12NM)
    • KBMM-125 DC Spindle Controller with 1.7HP Spindle motor
    • 6 Station ATC

This is now a fast rigid CNC mill with vast improvements since being converted to mach3. The only things to remain from the old Boxford control are some of the large power supplies, the rest has been replaced with modern equipment. This is a well-built machine tool that is perfect for small production runs and prototyping. The machine holds excellent tolerances in aluminium and steel and finished parts are always on size. The ATC makes quick work of tool changes and is easy to setup.

The machine is fully configured with mach3 and XML setup files will be provided with the sale along with macro files and custom screen-set page designed for the ATC. I am not selling the computer that runs the machine so you will require a mach3 licence. There is an interrogated coolant tank and pump in the machine which provides flood coolant. Compressed air is required to run the ATC and is properly controlled and configured with mach3. One shot lubrication system feeds oil to all the slide ways.

All tooling is included with the sale; 10 standard DA200 collet holders and 2 brand new Coventry tool holders (ER32 collet and 16mm Face mill holder) there is also a Jacobs’s holder with quick change chuck. There is a 5 position rack for tool holders. There is a large selection of DA200 Collets from 2mm to 10mm (30 collets in total). The standard Boxford vice has been re-ground and now works perfectly and is accurate, dowel pins have been added to make soft jaw repeats easy and there a few sets of soft-jaws which are included.

The machine is currently on large wheels to make it easier to transport but these can be removed if necessary. Unfortunately I am moving and there is no garage or workshop space hence my sale of this machine. It’s a shame to sell it as I have made this machine to run like clockwork but I will not have anywhere to accommodate it. I would recommend seeing this machine in action to see its capability, it runs far better than it left the factory. I wanted to offer it to the people of this forum first and if there is no interest it will be going on ebay.
