    Hi Guys

I have just bought a Jiachen 1216 without computer and any idea how to run it.

Is there anyone out there that can help me firstly with any information about the machine itself, I've tried to email company but just got a bounce back email.

I need any info such as pdfs etc to help understand it a bit more and also what the machine can achieve.

Also will this run off mach3 / vcarve software ?

I have a smaller cnc which I run off the above and know how to use so would be handy if could use same software.

The machine also comes with hand controller, I've never used one before and wouldn't know how too without learning the basics first.

I live in South Wales does anyone know a good CNC service company local ?

I will upload pics if anyone can give any guidance I would be very grateful.

I'd probably just look at teh drivers, scrap whatever control system is there and do a retrofit, cant be too difficult. The boards seem well marked, probably a good setup for an Acorn or Mach retrofit.

Thank you Chaz, I have another smaller machine with stepper control box too. I run Vcarve and Mach3 - would it just be a case of I could use that to run this machine and bypass the DSP ?

    Hi Chaz,

No only supplied the DSP manual and some other files.

We changed from DSP to Mach 3 a few years ago so were no longer needed.

I am currently trying Acorn, after a problem setting it up I now have it test running 4 axis for a router / mill and also have the lathe side running it will be made into a portable unit to take to other machines when complete.

Sorry, what is DSP in this case?

The DSP is the hand held controller to power this machine.

Hey Phil thanks for all your help on this, actually feel like things are progressing. Don't mean to sound a nause as I'm sure your going to be busy with your own work.

Do you have any suggestion for breakout board to Mach3 with these drivers ?
